Under tapped, rough surfaces, broken taps and a short tap life are all problems commonly faced when tapping internal threads. The root cause of these problems comes from thrust load, which is normally generated when a dead lock tool holder or general collet is used.

The Mega Synchro Tapping Holder from Big Daishowa is particularly designed to solve these problems. It allows the tiny amount of flexibility needed in the axial axis to reduce the thrust load caused by the synchronization errors. Its unique internal structure – when combined with the high precision Mega micro collet and Mega micro nut – enables superb concentricity with a runout of no greater than 5 µm at 5,000 rpm. The Mega Synchro is capable of supplying coolant through the tap periphery as well as through the tap. The new

Mega Synchro Tapping Holders are available in a range of M1-M3, and MGT3 for small taps.
